about

GREY MORAY’s debut EP Savages represents the first half of a two-EP-album, which will be completed by the second EP Redeemers around spring time 2017. Thus, Savages was conceived as the first part of the story: the entire album ultimately describes the dissonance in our conception of good and bad, right and wrong, holy and evil. The ones we deem responsible, worthy of following, and who are sworn to protect us, have turned into the ones most harmful to our desired state of society and peace. Meanwhile the ones fighting for their loved ones, their lives, or their freedom from oppressive regimes and rampant enforcements of arbitrary laws are demonized as enemies, criminals, and terrorists. Savages portrays the twisted realities tied to our so called leaders, be it spiritual, intellectual, or legal. In turn Redeemers will deal with the counterparts, the ones we have been taught to fear and condemn, their roles as the negative forces of the universe and how this anyway obsolete dogma of black and white has been turned upside down.
Savages features an intricate mixture of groovy metal and solid stoner elements. A warm, full bodied sound, sporadically broken up by sharp outbursts to reinforce the message of misleading comfort, soothing propaganda, a total lack of self-determination and a superabundance of undeserved self-righteousness.

about

Grey Moray Celle, Germany

Like their namesake Grey Moray bite hard and lurk deep. Their uncompromising assault with heavy walls of fuzzed up, boosted up, amped up guitars and heavy bass, layered with sharp-toothed vocals and incessant tides of percussive flux sweep your feet out from beneath you and take you down into their lair: the riff. ... more
